I just may have to do some of this at our next wine tasting...

Got SLEEP...?

Went for a sleep evaluation Tuesday night... to check and see if I've got sleep apnea...

Ever have one...?  They attach all these electrodes to your head, face, neck, leg...

Slept pretty good though... until the Dr. awoke me at midnight and had me put on a mask...

The Wife has been bugging me for... oh... almost a year to go get checked...

I tried different pillows... nose strips... sleeping on my back, my right side, left side... stomach...

Still didn't help...

So... got the call this afternoon... come in and get fitted for the MASK....

Yikes!  this will be an adjustment... I get it in about 3 weeks... will let you know how it goes...

NFL Refs...

WOW!  Two games this week, the Refs blew... one with major implications...

For you Charger's FANS, you know what I'm talking about...

Ed Hochuli, the Ref for the Chargers/Broncos game really blew it... and it could cost the Chargers the chance to make the playoffs...  rarely does an 0-2 team make the playoffs... OK, OK, yeah, the Giants won the Super Bowl after going 0-2, but that is the exception...

Were you aware that of the four major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL), the NFL Refs are the only ones who have a regular job besides being a ref... in the other three sports, being a referee is their full time job...

And the NFL rules...?  How about a Common Sense rule..?

La Jolla, Baby...

We went to La Jolla this weekend to celebrate my b-day... first time visiting...

Went to the downtown L Jolla to start... went to lunch at George's...

Great lunch... awesome view... and a potent Bloody Mary... Kim had a Vodka infused strawberry lemonade... oh... and good food too  ;-)

Walked a bit downtown... nice shops... then went to the shore... people swimming and snorkeling...

Made our way back to La Jolla 'proper'... just off the 5... stayed at the Marriott...

Older building, but has been nicely upgraded... rooms are nice... we had a great view... new LCDs for your TV viewing pleasure...

Downstairs bar was cool... great wine list by the glass (had an '03 Freemark Abbey)... and watched a heartbreak for SDSU v the Domers...

Went to Roy's for dinner... first time there... great fresh fish...

Closed out the evening at the bar downstairs... couldn't go to the room as a fire alarm went off on the 11th floor (probably those damn USC water-polo players goofing around)...

All in all... La Jolla's a great place for a quick weekend get-a-way...

Is Summer Over...?

The Labor Day weekend has come and gone... so does this mean the end of Summer...?

I think not...

The weather is still nice... the BBQ is still grillin' (salmon tonight)... 

Call me crazy, but this is the best time of the year... College football (take THAT Tennessee), NFL, the CHASE, and Baseball in its finals days before the playoffs... WOW!

Can it get any better...?
